The Twelve Perils of Driving in Korea

I went to Yongsan today for a dental appointment. While stuck in traffic, I came up with a song to the tune of the 12 Days of Christmas. I’ll write the last verse; I’m sure you can infer the rest.

As I drove into Yongsan, what did I chance to see?
Twelve driver TVs,
eleven required u-turns,
ten tiny on-ramps,
nine pushcarts inching,
eight excess stoplights,
seven scooters swerving,
six KM jammed,
bad driving,
four ignored lanes,
three construction men,
two double parked trucks,
and a car that just barely missed me!

Why did you need a dental appointment?

The Army’s got an Annual Proficiency And Readiness Test, or APART, for every aviator, which must be completed in the birth month or the two months prior. Dental checkups are part of that.
