After 10 months of application, the results are in: my application to become a helicopter pilot for the Army was rejected.
Pros: I can unpause my life and start advancing a programming career.
Cons: A sense of failure and disappointment, and a lost opportunity to learn to fly for free.
It is now time to move to the next great project. Until I announce it, you may assume that I am attempting to conquer the world.
My condolences. But don’t give up on the dream to fly! You’ll be able to do it one day!
It could have been a lot opportunity to get shot down over Baghdad, captured by al Qaeda and star in your own snuff film.
Shit sometimes happens for a reason.
Take it from an ex grunt.
Hopefully with a well-paying programming job you’ll have enough spare cash for flying lessons. Best of luck on the next step! :)
