I am looking for programming jobs. Ideally, I want to work outside the US, but I’m willing to return in the case that I can’t find anything outside. This is a request for comments on my resume*, which I will begin distributing shortly.
If, of course, your first thought upon seeing the resume is “I need to hire this man!”, feel free to get in touch with me.
* Link deleted because it no longer works. Also, I’m no longer looking for jobs.
I need to hire this man! Oh, damn… I don’t have a business yet.
You should add the year you graduated from WPI. Also, if your GPA was good that should be listed too.
Specifically mention your Japanese language skills. Even though the fact that you have them maybe be apparent from the address, it is better to draw attention to the fact if your application is in English. Relatedly, you may want to put location for your work experience. I did this even though all my jobs were in Massachusetts.
If you want more space on one page, you could make your computer skills a comma-separated list rather than bullets.
Otherwise it looks good. Good luck!
I’ve added the dates I was at WPI, but I haven’t put my Japanese language skills intentionally. Skill recognition in Japan involves passing a certification test; for Japanese, this is the government-administered Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Unfortunately for me, recognition starts with level 2, and I haven’t even passed the level 3 yet (though I intend to take it the next time it is offered, which should be this November or December).
