One of my students works for Kikkoman’s biological research division. Yes, it’s Kikkoman the soy sauce company. When I asked him why Kikkoman has a biological research division, he gave a confusing response complete with several dictionary look-ups which came down to “because they can.” It’s cool with me; if I had a huge, multinational company, I’m sure it would end up with a biological research divison also.
Anyhow, he hooked me up with a bottle of Imperial Soy Sauce. Apparantly, this stuff is entirely unavailable, unless 1) you are a member of the Imperial Palace, or 2) you work for Kikkoman. It’s a really cool gift, but I haven’t opened the bottle yet. I want to make a meal suitable to enjoy it with, and I’m completely out of ideas.
Anyone have any suggestions?
