snow day

This morning my japanese teacher didn’t show up. After about 20 minutes in class waiting, (yes, we were still there. We are an exceptionally well-behaved class), the news came in that her husband just called in and she had been in an accident. The messenger didn’t know how she was doing.

[Edit]: My japanese teacher is fine; nobody was hurt. Apparantly she was hit independently by two different trucks on the way there this morning, at which point she gave up.

I spent the rest of the class period on the road back to my apartment. Traffic was incredibly thick.

I spent the subsequent 45 minutes clearing off the snow on and around my car. Depths ranged from being perfectly clear along the back window to two feet along the sides to four feet sitting on top of the hood. I lucked out in that the landlord came by with a snowblower and helped me clear the area around the car.

This is an incredible start to today.
