The most evil popup ever:

A javascript puts up a css absolute element in the center of the page, containing an image that looks like a dialog box. The box says “Your browser has successfully blocked a popup window.” Clicking anywhere in the image opens a new window with the actual popup.

Now, the window decorations on the image were for MSIE and showed the default XP theme. I use Firefox and the old-style Windows window decorations. It still tricked me just long enough to click the ‘ok’ button, which was enough to let the real popup through; after all, firefox lets through new windows that are the direct result of a mouseclick…

I am impressed with whoever thought this one up. It’s just plain evil.
