Now all my things have been moved out of the fraternity. All of them are in the apartment. I need to pick up a collection of shims, as the floor isn’t quite level for perhaps a quarter of the room. It’s severe enough that I was worried about the drawers sliding out of the dresser were I to leave it angled so. So it’s hanging around in the center of the room for now.
On the way home, we hit some amazing snow. Snow that I had to use the wipers to clear off the windshield, in addition to the heaters roaring full blast at it. Snow that produced whiteout conditions such that I was following the lines along the side of the road–I could only follow the lines for twenty feet or so ahead of the car before they blurred into obscurity. The snow was just blowing ferociously. I ended up slowing to about 15 mph, until I found a utility truck sanding and plowing along the route I was following and paced him. Even so, there were vast lines of cars pulled off to the side of the road, blinkers on, just trying to wait it out. It was fun, in the danger sense–I felt like if I messed up, seriously bad things could happen as a result.
After a while, just as I got off 190 onto Rt. 2, the snow just stopped. There were still drifts on the road, but those cleared quickly.
It was a strange flurry.
