So I read a lot. This is a trait that I inherited from my father, and I doubt that it’ll go away anytime soon. One of the things that I always admired when I was younger were the stacks of books he kept in his huge bookshelves, all excellent work by authors that I would come to adore. However, I haven’t even begun to establish an equivalent collection of my own. I could name several authors and series that I would love to have the collected works of, for my own enjoyment and any posterity that may arise.
It’s unfortunate that transcribing a novel, unlike copying a piece of software, requires a substantial amount of effort; otherwise it would be much easier to acquire new books, and keep them. Public libraries, though nice, aren’t always easy to access, and they don’t often have the selection that I’m looking for.
